No. It’s a meal planning guide that teaches people on GLP-1 the Shot Meals Method, which I developed by coupling my experience on GLP-1, working with people on GLP-1, and over a decade of science-backed clinical experience as a registered dietitian. Rigid meal plans simply don’t work long term. You need to learn how to eat on GLP-1 and for life. Shot Meals teaches you how to create satisfying meals you enjoy without giving up your favorite foods in a way that’s simple, effective, and enjoyable.

Is Shot Meals suitable for people following specialty diets (i.e., vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, etc.)?

Is there a lot of cooking involved?

There can be as much or as little cooking as you want there to be. You fit the Shot Meal Method to your lifestyle and cooking level. You could totally get by with minimal cooking and food preparation, or you could cook every meal. It’s up to you how you implement the method. Most of the sample meals have some degree of food preparation involved.
While you don’t need 5 star cooking skills or a high tech kitchen, most meals do require some level of preparation. However, this could be as much or as minimal preparation as you want it to be (think, using frozen vegetables heated in the microwave, canned meats like tuna, etc).

Can I use Shot Meals if I’m not on a GLP-1?

The meal planning strategies in Shot Meals will absolutely help someone lose weight who is not on GLP-1. That being said, Shot Meals was made for people taking GLP-1 medications. So it addresses many of the unique nutritional challenges and experiences of those taking the medication.

I’m about to start the weight maintenance phase of my journey, is this for me?

While the strategies taught in Shot Meals can and should be used in weight maintenance, it is not recommended to start this guide when you are going into weight maintenance and tapering off GLP-1 medication. It is so much more effective to start it earlier in your journey, because you will have created eating habits that will be more engrained. You should start working on these nutrition habits many months before heading into the weight maintenance stage of your journey.
